Jo Klein
Vice President, Strategy, Planning and Research

Jo Klein serves as vice president of strategy, planning and research for Novation. She currently has responsibility for strategic planning, market intelligence, market research, member satisfaction, comparative analysis and linkage to VHA and UHC. In addition, she has responsibility for proposals used in member retention and recruitment. She has had extensive experience in industry dynamics and development.

Klein joined VHA in 1991. During her tenure with VHA and Novation, she conducted an industry wide study on “The Value of Group Purchasing in the Health Care Supply Chain” with Arizona State University and is currently a board member for Arizona State University’s Health Sector Supply Chain Research Consortium. She was also instrumental in the development and operation of OPPORTUNITY®, Novation's committed purchasing program.

Prior to joining Novation, Klein worked for Abbott Laboratories. She was responsible for the strategic direction and business operations for a worldwide microbiology business. She had direct responsibility for manufacturing, quality, marketing, sales, research and development.

Throughout her career, Klein has had leadership experience in change management, operations management, process and project management, and multi-disciplinary team development. Klein earned her master's and bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska.
