Eldon Petersen
Group Senior Vice President, Novation
President, Provista

Eldon Petersen is group senior vice president at Novation. In this role, he oversees Novation’s operations and growth internationally as well as other new ventures. Petersen also serves as President of Provista which is a multi-industry supply chain and business solutions company, focused on helping its customers maximize their business performance. In both roles, Petersen has responsibility for expanding the reach of Novation and Provista into new healthcare and non-healthcare market opportunities.

Petersen joined VHA Inc. in January 1985 as the south central division manager. He has held positions in VHA's supply company as area manager, national sales director, vice president of sales, vice president of operations, senior vice president of sales and distribution, and vice president of system services. In early 1996, Petersen was named general manager of HealthCare Purchasing Partners Inc., now called Provista, a wholly owned subsidiary, of VHA that offered group purchasing services to non-VHA health care organizations. He was named president of Provista in January 1998 when the company was reorganized and UHC took a 25 percent stake in Provista.

Petersen came to VHA from Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center, a VHA Shareholder in Topeka, Kan. where he was the director of materials management. Prior to that position, he was a division manager with a health care contract management firm and has been in the health care field since 1974.

Petersen holds a bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
