Dan Sweeney
Senior Vice President, Contract and Program Services

Dan Sweeney is senior vice president of contract and program services for Novation. Sweeney is responsible for contracting strategy and program development for anesthesia, orthopedics, medical, respiratory, cardiology, imaging and medical/surgical distribution. Additionally, he leads Novation’s supply chain data management efforts.

Prior to this role, Sweeney served as vice president of contract and program services for Novation and was responsible for leading Novation’s business and strategy development for physician preference products. Specific duties included: contract management, strategy, planning and marketing related to interventional cardiology, cardiology rhythm management, cardiovascular surgery, interventional radiology, spine, trauma, total joint, arthroscopy, endoscopy, orthopedic accessories, and patient monitoring.

Sweeney has been with Novation and VHA since 1986. He has worked in areas addressing contract management, strategy, planning and marketing for pharmaceuticals, IV systems, plasma, laboratory, food and facilities and environmental services. Sweeney has extensive experience with the financial and operational activities of non-profit organizations, especially in the health care field.

Prior to joining VHA, Sweeney worked in public accounting specializing in financial and operational engagements for health care and public sector businesses and organizations.

Sweeney received his undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.
