Novation Awards Multiple Contracts for Neonatal Specialty Products
IRVING, TX; February 3, 2006 — Novation, the health care contracting services company of VHA Inc. and the University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC), has signed agreements with three suppliers for neonatal specialty products - a new product category for Novation. The agreements began on Feb. 1, 2006, and include developmental and critical care products, medication delivery products and neonatal utility products.
“These new agreements offer product coverage for the neonatal specialty market. Each of these suppliers develops and market products and services that improve the quality of care for premature infants,” said Keith Johnson, product manager at Novation. “Hospitals purchasing off these agreements can anticipate receiving up to a 10 percent savings.”
The awarded suppliers include Children’s Medical Ventures, Small Beginnings and Vygon Corporation. The contract agreements with Children’s Medical Ventures and Vygon were signed based on Novation’s public competitive bid process, which included input from surveys of VHA and UHC member representatives and recommendations from Novation’s member-based councils. Small Beginnings’ agreement was awarded through Novation’s Supplier Diversity Program which creates opportunities for minorities-, women- and veteran-owned business enterprises that meet high-quality standards to do business with Novation.
