Novation Adds Enhancements to Automated Online Contracting Tool to Help VHA and UHC Members Easily Access Savings Quicker
IRVING, TX; November 2, 2006 — Novation, the health care contracting services company of VHA Inc. and the University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC), has made enhancements to its innovative automated contracting tool, Form Manager, which allows alliance members to manage letters of commitment and participation online and provides quicker and easier access to Novation contract value.
“Novation was the first organization of its type to offer an online tool to help hospitals manage their contracting forms and a service to facilitate faster turnaround from suppliers for access to contracts where paper forms are normally required,” said Brant Pate, Director Business Systems Development at Novation. “The new enhancements will provide even more benefits and greater value to the members.”
Enhancements to Forms Manager include:
- A “How To” Wizard for major functions
- Usability improvements – including a new menu structure
- Support for virtual member systems and regional standardization
- Ability to switch between multiple facilities when completing forms
- Addition of contract ID to screens and downloads
- An updated look and feel
In addition, the Form Manager application will be housed on a new dedicated server with greater bandwidth, allowing for the reduction or elimination of slowdowns or timeouts, and faster bulk printing of documents.
In the last four years, Novation has compressed approval times from over two months to less than two weeks.
Currently, the majority of Novation contract forms may be submitted electronically through Form Manager, significantly reducing alliance members’ contract activation time. In 2007, Novation intends to automate or eliminate those forms that are not yet paperless today.
