Novation Announces Hunt Promotion
IRVING, TX; April 10, 2007 Novation, the health care contracting services company of VHA Inc. and the University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC), has promoted Mick Hunt to vice president of pharmacy.
In his new role, Hunt will provide leadership for Novation’s pharmaceutical services and contracting teams with responsibility for all pharmacy contracting and distribution activities.
“Mick has played a significant role in the development of Novation’s industry-leading pharmacy program,” said Larry McComber, senior vice president, contract and program services at Novation. He has been instrumental in working to effectively merge the cultures of VHA and UHC pharmacists since Novation’s inception.”
Hunt joined Novation in 1998 as director of member relations in pharmacy and has since held positions within Novation’s pharmacy services. Most recently, he served as senior director of pharmacy services with responsibility for strategy development and service.
Prior to joining Novation in 1998, Hunt was director of pharmacy at the University of Kentucky Hospital and associate professor and assistant dean in the UK College of Pharmacy for nine years. In addition, he served as director of pharmacy at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Ill. for thirteen years and as assistant director of pharmacy at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minn.
Hunt received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in pharmacy from the Ohio State University College of Pharmacy and completed a concurrent residency in hospital pharmacy at Grant Hospital in Columbus. Additionally, he holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.
Hunt served as president and chair of the Board of Directors of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and remains active in numerous nationally recognized pharmaceutical organizations.
