Novation Publishes New Medical Technology Catalog
Catalog Highlights Innovative Medical Products Available Through Novation Contracts
IRVING, TX; May 22, 2007 Novation, the health care contracting services company of VHA Inc. and University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC), two national health care alliances, worked with awarded suppliers to compile its third edition of the New Medical Technology Catalog. The catalog showcases innovative medical products that are available to VHA, UHC and Healthcare Purchasing Partners International (HPPI) member health organizations through Novation contracts.
“Novation is committed to ensuring that alliance member health care organizations have information about new and potentially innovative medical technology,” said Novation Director of Innovative Technology, Jenifer Axline. The catalog is a great resource because it provides alliance members with a glimpse of the new technology that is available through Novation.
The catalog is produced annually and offers information on innovative medical products from the industry’s leading manufacturers. Products are organized by categories which include diagnostic imaging, facilities, laboratory, medical, respiratory and surgical. The catalog includes color images, information on product features and incremental patient care, patient safety, or healthcare worker safety benefits.
Novation suppliers were invited to submit applications to highlight their most innovative products. The products had to meet the following criteria to be included in the catalog:
- Available on Novation contract,
- FDA-approved (if applicable),
- Available for sale in the U.S. on or after January 1, 2005,
- Provides documented incremental patient care, patient safety or health care worker safety benefits.
Suppliers featured in the 2007 New Medical Technology Catalog include: 3M, Alliance Tech Medical, Aspect Medical Systems, Buffalo Filter, CardinalHealth, Cook Medical, Dade Behring, DiaSorin, Eastman Kodak Company, ev3, Exergen Corporation, Georgia-Pacific Corporation, Healthpoint LTD, Hollister, Inc., Hospira Worldwide, Inc., IRIS Diagnostics, Jeron Electronic Systems, Kimberly-Clark, LUXTEC, MDM Commercial Enterprises, Medline Industries, Molnlycke, Natus Medical Inc., Roche, Sage Products, Siemens Medical, SizeWise Rentals, LLC, Spacelabs Healthcare, SPSmedical and Stryker.
Some of these suppliers will be exhibiting their products at the 24th annual VHA Leadership Conference in Denver, May 21-23.
