Vintges Joins Novation as VP, Contract and Program Services

Industry leader to head Cardiovascular, Imaging and Capital Programs

IRVING, TX; January 28, 2008 — Novation, the health care contracting services company of VHA Inc. and the University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC), today announced it has hired Mike Vintges as vice president, contract and program services for Cardiovascular, Imaging and Capital programs. Vintges joined Novation on January 15.

“Mike has a wealth of expertise in cardiovascular, a strong perspective of the healthcare industry and an in depth knowledge of Novation,” said Dan Sweeney, Novation senior vice president of contract and program. “His commitment to member care is a perfect match for this role and aligns with our corporate goals.”

Vintges joins Novation with more than 24 years’ experience in cardiovascular services. He most recently served as vice president of the Heart Institute and Center for Advanced Surgery and Technology for the Trinity Mother Frances Health System in Tyler, Texas. He also held the position of director of cardiac services with Hillcrest Baptist Medical in Waco, Texas and director of cardiac and pulmonary services at Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, Calif. Additionally, he served as the lead invasive cardiovascular technician at Mercy Hospital in San Diego, Calif. and as a medical corpsman and LVN in the United States Air Force.

He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in health services management from LaSalle University, and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiovascular Administrators. He has served the American Heart Association in numerous positions at state and local levels.
