Novation Launches First of Its Kind Medical Research Portfolio

Comprehensive Package of Products and Services Tailored For Specialized Needs of Medical Researchers

IRVING, TX; October 28, 2009 — Novation, the leading healthcare supply contracting company of VHA Inc., University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC), and Provista, today announced that it is launching a new Medical Research Portfolio.

The portfolio offers a comprehensive package of products and services tailored to meet the specialized needs of medical research member organizations and their unique purchasing patterns.  Novation’s new medical research portfolio is the first of its kind and will offer a range of products in more than 150 product categories from equipment to reagents to general consumables.

“In the current economic climate, even researchers are feeling the pinch to their budgets, said Angela Archer, Ph.D. Portfolio Executive - Medical Research at Novation. “The new portfolio offers medical research departments the products they prefer at a significant savings. Through cooperation researchers will realize increased productivity and lower supply costs.”

A steering committee comprised of researchers from 12 member research institutes advises Novation on what products are preferred in the medical research space. The committee has been meeting since mid-2007.
