Novation Names Recipients of the Bob Majors Scholarship

Winners receive a $2,500 scholarship

IRVING, TX; November 30, 2009 – Novation, the health care industry’s leading supply contracting company, today announced the winners of the 2009 Bob Majors Scholarship. The two winners receive a $2,500 scholarship to apply toward costs associated with attending and participating in a 2010 materials- or leadership-related conference. A team consisting of employees from Novation, VHA Inc. and University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC) chose a winner from both a VHA and UHC member hospital. The scholarship recipients demonstrate a passion and commitment to materials management, health care and the communities they serve.

The scholarship was established in 2007 to honor Robert “Bob” Majors, a director of materials management at Bloomington Hospital in Indiana. Mr. Majors was very active on advisory councils at Novation, VHA and UHC and faithfully participated on numerous committees and task forces. He passed away in January 2007.

Congratulations to Whitney and Kevin for a job well done,” said Jody Hatcher, Novation president and CEO.

Whitney Taylor, the UHC winner said, “It is greatly humbling to be chosen in memory of Mr. Majors, who was obviously a man of great compassion, integrity and experience. I look forward to the opportunity to further my education in the field of materials management using the award.”
