Contracting Process

Novation's contracting process meets the supply chain management needs of more than 2,500 VHA and UHC health care organizations by awarding agreements to suppliers that provide the best quality products and demonstrate broad-based clinical acceptability at the lowest total cost.

All supplier proposals and bids are evaluated based on financial and nonfinancial evaluation factors. Contracts are awarded to suppliers offering the best overall value, based on these evaluation factors. Members provide extensive input regarding criteria used in contract development and awards. Member participation in Novation contracts is purely voluntary, so our goal is to always provide market-leading value to members.

Novation's contracting process allows members to achieve administrative and operating efficiencies while complying with competitive contracting requirements. Through an extensive nine-step process, member organizations can have confidence that Novation consistently delivers.
